PIGEON FORGE: 865-365-1883

Do you need a quick weekend away from your hectic schedule? Give yourself a break and spend some quality time together as a family in the Great Smoky Mountains! If you need more convincing, here are a few reasons why you should plan a Pigeon Forge weekend getaway before winter is over:

1. Opportunity to experience snow in the Smokies

From tubing down our outdoor snow tubing hill to seeing the snowcapped mountain from our mountain coaster, you will have a blast embracing the cold weather and winter scenery. A scenic drive through Wears Valley or Cades Cove is another great opportunity to admire the beautiful snow; just be sure to check for seasonal road closures before you head to the national park.

2. Last chance for outdoor snow tubing

At Rowdy Bear, you can enjoy outdoor tubing all year long, but the cold weather months mean you can also experience snow tubing with our real-looking and feeling “fake” snow. You can fly down the hill on your own, race your friends and family, or connect up to 3 tubes to go down together! Each session is 90 minutes long, and booking your tickets in advance is highly recommended.

3. Mountain coasters & gorgeous views

You can control your speed on our Avalance Snow Coaster, so whether you want to zip around the curves at a fast speed or take a more leisurely ride, you can! Our double-seat coaster allows kids to ride with an adult. Anyone 51 inches tall and over can ride alone. For even more incredible views of Pigeon Forge and the Smokies, SkyLand Ranch’s Wild Stallion mountain coaster is also a fantastic ride!

4. More fun activities at Rowdy Bear & SkyLand Ranch

Your Pigeon Forge weekend getaway will be even better if you visit SkyLand Ranch in addition to our adventure park. Visit us for snow tubing in the morning, ride our ski lift shootout, and try your hand at axe throwing before heading over to our sister attraction in Sevierville, which is only a few minutes away. They are well known for their miniature animals and the Safari Hayride experiences. Plus, they have yummy food trucks, drinks, and fun events for the whole family!

5. Winter hiking in the Smoky Mountains

Many trails are accessible year-round, including many family-friendly hikes. Some of our favorite winter hikes in the Smokies include the Fighting Creek Nature Trail, Cataract Falls Trail, the Elkmont Nature Trail, and the Porters Creek Trail.
